Improve Your Fitness Levels With These Tips

There are a lot of ways you can improve your fitness levels. However, you have to be willing to put in the work and be consistent with your routine. With that said, below are a few tips that can help you increase your overall fitness.

Do Cardio Every Other Day

Don’t overdo your cardio routine. You want to improve at cardio, which is why you should do it every othyer day. At least do this for the next 5-8 weeks. Some of the best cardio workouts include:

. Jogging
. Running
. Walking at a brisk pace
. Walking on an incline
. Dancing
. Cycling

What you want to do is choose a different cardio exercise you can do, and then do your cardio every other day. Each sessions should take around 20-30 minutes to complete. After 5-8 weeks, feel free to start doing longer cardio sessions. Over time, your stamina and endurance levels should improve.

Perform Body-Weight Workouts Daily

Don’t underestimate body-weight exercises and body-weight workouts. Doing them regularly can improve your fitness levels drastically. A good body-weight workout includes alternating between upper-body and low-body exercises. Do three exercises for your upper-body on one day, followed by three lower-body exercises the next and keep alternating for 4-8 weeks. Do your workouts daily and perform as many sets and reps as you can. The amount of sets and reps you do is completely up to you, but make sure you train daily.

Tip: The three body-weight exercises you should do are partial squats, full-squats and lunges.

Train With Weights Three Days Per Week

Weight training is a great way to improve fitness levels. Since you’ll be focusing more on cardio and body-weight workouts, you only have to do three weight workouts per week. A good routine to follow is:

. Chest, shoulders & triceps on day one
. Back, traps & biceps on day two
. Legs on day three

Stick with moderate or light weight. The amount of sets and reps you do is up to you, but do a minimum of 6-9 sets per body part and at least 4-6 reps per exercise.

Load Up On Fruits And Veggies

Everyone knows how good fruit and vegetables are for them. However, so many people still don’t eat enough. You should eat fruit and veggies on a daily basis or at least every other day. Eating fruits and veggies is a great way to improve your fitness levels, especially if you implement the previously discussed tips.

While you’re at it, include oatmeal in your diet. Oatmeal is one of the healthiest foods you can eat. It also tastes good, so the next time you crave a snack, you should reach for some oats, as well as fruits and/or veggies.

It’s that simple: do your cardio every other day, do body-weight workouts daily and consume fruits, veggies and oatmeal. If you do those things, then you will improve your fitness levels.
